Description

The DES-1005P Fast Ethernet PoE Desktop Switch provides a cost-effective way for SOHO and SMB to benefit from Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology by allowing users to power devices such as wireless access points, network cameras, or IP phones directly from network cables. The DES-1005P is equipped with four PoE ports and integrates D-Link Green Ethernet technology to save energy when the switch is not in use. Its fanless design makes it completely silent, making it suitable for offices, libraries, or meeting rooms.Plug and Play PoE (Power over Ethernet)The first four ports of the DES-1005P support the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard. These ports supply up to 30 watts of PoE power and will automatically detect the power required by a connected PoE device, so no configuration is needed. Each port can be directly connected to a server, hub, router, or switch using standard straight-through twisted-pair Ethernet cables.Energy-Saving TechnologyThe DES-1005P is part of D-Link Green, D-Link's eco-friendly technology, which provides energy savings, reduced power consumption, and a longer product life without sacrificing operational performance or functionality. This switch implements the 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) standard, which can save a substantial amount of power by detecting port status, putting them into a low-power standby mode when no network traffic is detected. The included Energy Star Level V power adapter ensures efficient power conversion and extended product life. Additionally, Green Ethernet technology on the DES-1005P can detect the length of network cables connected to its ports and provide only the correct amount of power required.
