Features:

PoE (Power over Ethernet) Plug and Play The first four ports of the DGS-1008P support the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard. Each of these four ports can supply up to 15.4 W, which is very suitable for use in locations far from power outlets, or when it is necessary to minimize the presence of extra power supplies. The Switch will automatically detect the power needed by a connected PoE device, so no configuration is required. A safety mechanism will cut off power if a PoE overload occurs, to protect both the Switch and the connected device.

Cable Diagnostics Function Every time the DGS-1008P is powered on, it runs a micro-diagnostic routine to check the integrity of the Ethernet cables connected to it. If any fault is detected, the Switch will indicate it via the LED indicators on the front panel, making it easier for the user to troubleshoot cabling issues.

QoS (Quality of Service) Despite being an unmanaged and Plug and Play Switch, the DGS-1008P can classify network traffic by evaluating the 802.1p and DSCP fields present in Ethernet frames and IP packets, respectively, and redirect them out of the ports based on their priority. This allows seamless integration of data, voice, and video traffic, without delays or quality loss.

Energy Saving Technology The DGS-1008P is part of D-Link Green™, D-Link's environmentally friendly technology, which offers energy savings, lower power consumption, and longer product life without compromising performance or functionality. This Switch implements Green Ethernet technology, which can result in significant energy savings by detecting the length of the cables connected to it and, consequently, adjusting the power; and the port status, which puts it into standby, low-power mode when no network traffic is detected. These consumption reductions have allowed us to eliminate fans in the design of the DGS-1008P, making it a silent device and significantly increasing its lifespan.
