The TL-SG1005P is an unmanaged 5-port 10/100/1000Mbps switch that requires no configuration and provides 4 PoE (Power over Ethernet) ports. It can automatically detect and power Powered Devices compliant with the IEEE 802.3af standard.
Description
Power over Ethernet
4 of the switch's 5 auto-negotiating RJ45 ports (Port 1 to Port 4) support Power over Ethernet (PoE) mode. These PoE ports automatically detect the presence of IEEE 802.3af compliant PoE devices and supply power to them.
Overload Protection
The TL-SG1005P features a priority function* that helps protect the equipment when an overload occurs in the system's power supply. If the power consumption of all PoE devices is greater than or equal to 56W, power priority is established among the PoE ports, according to which the switch interrupts power to the port with the lowest priority.
Port Priority Function
Priority (Port 1 > Port 2 > Port 3 > Port 4): This function helps protect the system under normal working conditions, meaning that Port 4 will stop supplying power when the total power of all powered devices exceeds 56W. For example, if Ports 1, 2, and 4 are each using 15.4 W (the maximum power per port is 15.4 W), the total system supply is 56W. If an additional PoE device consuming 10 W is connected to Port 3, the device will disconnect power from Port 4 to protect itself. This way, Ports 1 and 2 will consume 15.4 W, Port 3 will use 10 W, and no power will be supplied to Port 4.
